NO MORE LAZINESS (PART 3)

( Manifestations of Laziness part 3 )

Doing other people’s work

The Lazy man always believe that he has not been fairly treated by God,by other believers,by life, and by circumstances.

Always comparing themselves with others.

To them the grass is always greener in their neighbour’s field.

THIS IS CALLED COMPARISON TRAP.

2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV

[12] For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

This thinking coupled with indiscipline makes the Lazy not to settle on their own jobs, always desiring other people’s job.

This attitude also makes them restless. Once they lay their hands on this new job ,they soon get tired and begin to desire for another , especially when trouble arises.

Ephesians 4:1b KJV

[1] ——— beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Everyone has a vocation wherewithal he/ she is called.

Be disciplined , follow through and God will bless the fruit of your labour.

Romans 11:29 AMP

[29] For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.

Romans 11:29 NLT

[29] For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.

Everyone has a work he/ she is supposed to do.

Consequently everyone is decorated with, gifts, wisdom, that will enable him/her to achieve this purpose.

But to abandon this purpose and concentrate on another person’s job is to dislocate , disconnect yourself from God’s special resources available for that job.

When a lazy man exhibiting this behaviour he is telling God that He made a mistake.

Ease of distraction.

A lazy person is easily distracted, does not concentrate.

He is committed to nothing in particular and consequently nothing holds his interest for long.

He is therefore restless, constantly on the move, busy but doing nothing.

He is under the control of satan who according the the bible–Job 1:7 KJV

[7] And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord , and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

They are not finishers.

Cannot finish any projects.

Cannot keep a lasting relationships.

Philippians 3:13 KJV

[13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do , forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Unwillingness to take control

Lazy people are stubborn, always wanting to have their way.

They insist on doing things —their own way,at their own time, at their own speed and at their convenience.

The bible says that they are wiser in there eyes than many who are able to answer discreetly.

Proverbs 26:16 NKJV

[16] The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can answer sensibly.

Proverbs 26:16 NLT

[16] Lazy people consider themselves smarter than seven wise counselors.

Gluttony

Laziness and gluttony go hand in hand.

Gluttons are concerned with their belly and satisfying it

Philippians 3:18-19 NIV

[18] For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. [19] Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.

  • A glutton will not rest until he had filled his belly, then he will rest and sleep.
  • This is a chain— worship of food – the worship of sleep.
  • That is why their productivity is low.

ARE YOU A GLUTTON, IF THE ANSWER IS YES , THAT MEANS YOU ARE LAZY.PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW.

Sluggishness

A lazy person is sluggish.

  • The speed which they do things is slow.
  • No sense of urgency in their attitude to life.
  • They waist time in seating and standing up.
  • They waist time in opening a book.
  • They waist time in opening their mouth to speak.

Proverbs 20:4 NIV

[4] Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.

Proverbs 26:14-15 KJV

[14] As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. [15] The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
